Saturday 10 January 2009: Spanish Built GM intended for Royal Work with EWS but a change of policy saw this work lost. After a few years doing little they became saught after power on charter work by various train companies needing extra trains to help ease over crowding.

Monday 8 May 2006: What with travelling around, It's usually time for a beer some-where and where better than an traditional pub selling a good range of English Ales. Most of the pubs featured here will either be in or have been in the Good Beer Guide and usually stock a good range of cask ales. Must remember to take my camera with me now when I go for a beer, more importantly, remember to bring it back again !!!

Sunday 12 February 2006: Troublesome when first built, They replaced many earlier classes and are often found on heavy freight workings although everyone has worked some form of passenger train although mainly on Railtours because of their top speed of just 60 Mph.

Class 37's On Holiday

Sunday 12 February 2006: A number of Class 37's were lent to France during 1999/2000 to help in the building of the TGV line towards the Meditteranean Coast. The engines were based at Eurre near Valence which is between Lyon and Marseille. These photo's were taken in the first days of February 2000.

Thursday 9 February 2006: One Hundred of these Loco's worked up and down the West Coast Main Line. Later worked on the Great Eastern with odd appearance's at Kings Cross.

Thursday 9 February 2006: After the Class 56, a cheaper version appeared witch became Class 58 with the hope of being an export model, although this was not the case. Eventually they did make it to Europe but either sold or hired out after BR/EWS had finished with them.

Wednesday 8 February 2006: The first 100 AC Electric loco's were replaced by the 86's on main line duties but still had plenty of work on cross country, over-night and other lesser duties.

Tuesday 7 February 2006: Four Class 20's were sold to a private rail Company in France, CFD, based at Autun. Eventually all four loco's were hired out to work a couple of Railtours run by ADL. So we went whistling round some French back waters with these four.

Class 76 and 77

Tuesday 7 February 2006: Designed by the LNER, most were built by British Railways for the Woodhead Route between Manchester and Sheffield. Withdrawn as the route was eventually closed. Photographs of the passenger version, which should have become Class 77 are in the Dutch Collection except for the the ones that came back home.

Tuesday 7 February 2006: Built for MGR trains in the main they eventually worked most types of heavy freight through out the country. All members of the Class worked some sort of passenger train be it railtours or either on diverted WCML workings or because of failures.

Monday 6 February 2006: Built for the East Coast Main Line. Used on express trains from Kings Cross to Edinburgh and Leeds and sleeper trains at night. Replaced by HST's they visited places such as Aberdeen and Liverpool
